A second opportunity to hear architectural historian Peter Guillery of the Survey of London talk about The Whitechapel Project. The previous lecture attracted a capacity crowd and this time there will be updates as the Project harnesses oral histories and records from members of the community about the rich history, politics and cultures of this teeming and fascinating area that has been - for most of its history - one of the most empoverished in London. The Whitechapel Project is part of the research for the forthcoming Whitechapel volume in the Survey of London, a series of local histories that was founded more than a century ago and the first volume of which was about Trinity Green Almshouses, Stepney.
Doors open 6.00pm for 6.30pm. Tickets on the door £5.
