Shrine
of Our Lady of Lourdes, Blackpool, Lancashire
The
Shrine stands at the corner of Whinney Heys Road close to Stanley Park.
HCT has initiated a phased approach to addressing the repair needs of
this important twentieth century chapel. A first phase of repairs was
completed in April 2008. This consisted of repairs to the leaking copper
roof and re-designing a defective rainwater disposal system. The works
cost just over £100,000. Grants have been received from English
Heritage, Sita Environmental Trust, Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund,
Trust House Foundation, and Hartsheath Charitable Trust. Additional donations
have been received by the Historic Chapels Trust and funds raised by the
